Become a Certified Chick-fil-A Trainer
The primary responsibility of a Certified Trainer is to train and coach all new and existing employees.
In addition, they serve as an experienced, knowledgeable, dependable performer in more than one area, and assist leaders on duty with basic needs of the shift such as answering simple Team Member questions.
This means in the restaurant, your role is to ensure all Chick-fil-A procedures are followed, and to coach when it is not. Additionally, you will be tasked with executing hands-on, on-the-job training for all new and existing Team Members, which includes a new hire’s first few days and any appropriate training a Team Member need.
All summed up, your role is to train constantly and assist the leadership team as needed.
Profile & Qualities of a Trainer
Profile
Able to work at least 20 hours per week.
Able to work at least 3 days a week.
Retain a thorough knowledge of all Chick-fil-A procedures for the areas in which you are certified. Demonstrate competency and the skill-set required for those procedures. Consistently execute those procedures with excellence, not taking shortcuts.
Be a model Team Member.
Adheres to Chick-fil-A appearance and grooming standard.

a. Has knowledge of Chick-fil-A Operating Procedures (Pathway).
b. Committed to the pursuit of flawless execution of Chick-fil-A operating standards.

a. Has a mastery of Core 4 as it relates to training.
b. Ability to give and receive feedback in a professional manner
c. Exhibits professionalism in speech and conduct with peers and leaders.
d. Continually displays effective communication with team members and guests
C. Speed and Urgency:
a. The capacity to execute Chick-fil-A procedures quickly and with excellence.

Process of Becoming a Trainer
Team Member Applies or is nominated to be a trainer.
Step 1
Store Leadership Approval
1. Leadership approves Team Member as Certified Trainer candidate. 2. Training Coordinator suggests Certified Trainer Program to the approved Team Member and informs the Training Director.
Step 2
Team Member completes self assessment
The Team Member receives Certified Trainer program details and, if interested, completes a Trainer Profile Form. The Training Coordinator discusses compensation with the candidate, who then submits the form to the Coordinator to pass along to the Training Director.
Step 3
Achieve at least 90% on the Specialist Knowledge Test
After profile has been reviewed candidate will receive a link to the Chick-fil-A Training Specialist Knowledge Test on Pathway. This test has 50 questions that will cover either FOH or BOH procedures. This is an open Pathway test, please feel free to consult Pathway as a resource.
Step 4
Complete a 1 on 1 interview with Training Director.
Step 5
Complete the Certified Trainer Course.
Step 6
IN SUMMARY
1. Apply to be a trainer or be nominated by management.
2. Application reviewed by management.
3. Complete the training process per pathway
4. Complete the practical training process.
5. Be evaluated by management and other trainers.
6. Provide feedback on the overall training process.
