At Chick-fil-A Park Blvd. & Plano Pkwy., we believe that serving our community is just as important as serving great food. That’s why we are honored to partner with Nomi Network Dallas, a powerful nonprofit fighting human trafficking in Texas.
Recently, Nomi Network was selected as one of the Southwest region finalists for the Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards™, a grant program created to honor nonprofits making a meaningful impact. About Nomi Network
Nomi Network was founded in 2009 by Diana Mao, who was deeply moved after a trip to Cambodia where she witnessed firsthand the exploitation of women and girls in the sex trade. Alongside co-founders Alissa and Supei Yu, she created the organization with a mission to break cycles of poverty and exploitation by creating pathways to safe employment and education.
The organization’s name was inspired by a young girl, “Nomi,” who was rescued from trafficking but left without opportunities to build a sustainable future. Her story became a symbol of why the network exists: to ensure survivors and those at risk have access to safe jobs, life skills, and hope for a brighter future.
Over the years, Nomi Network has grown from its beginnings in Southeast Asia to a global nonprofit with strong programs in India, Cambodia, and the United States. In recent years, they’ve expanded significantly in Dallas, Texas, where they partner with local agencies and schools to reach vulnerable youth.
What Nomi Network does in Dallas
Locally, Nomi Network Dallas is focused on empowering youth and women at risk of trafficking or exploitation. They provide:
Job readiness training and exposure to career pathways
Life skills education tailored to youth in Dallas County
Case management and mentorship for survivors and justice-involved youth
Wraparound services that build stability, dignity, and independence
As a human trafficking nonprofit in Texas, Nomi Network continues to expand its impact in Dallas each year, serving as a vital resource for our community.
Why Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards™ Matter
The Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards™ provide grants ranging from $30,000 to $350,000 for nonprofits driving community change. For Nomi Network Dallas, this funding would:
Expand their workforce training programs
Provide more educational and life skills opportunities for vulnerable youth
Strengthen case management and support services
Help end human trafficking in Dallas through prevention and empowerment
Most importantly, this grant would allow them to serve more families and youth right here in North Texas.
How Chick-fil-A Park Supports Nomi Network in Dallas
As your local Chick-fil-A in Plano, we’re committed to giving back to the community. By partnering with Nomi Network Dallas, we want to highlight their incredible history, celebrate their mission, and encourage our guests to rally behind them. Together, we can help this Dallas nonprofit finalist win the support they need.
During the voting period, posters and other informational materials were placed strategically in our store and drive thru lanes. Cards with QR codes on how to vote were given out to our guests. At the same time multiple social media posts were posted and the campaign was also shared on Beyondchikin.
For many of our team members, it was the first time they heard of Nomi Network and their mission. Many were moved and voted for Nomi Network to be the True Inspiration award finalist in the Southwest region. They also at the shared the campaign with our guests.
